BELPO held its first Leadership Training for Social and Environmental Justice from August 15-17, 2014.
We believe that without a healthy environment, people cannot exist and without human action and awareness, the environment that supports life, as we know it, cannot exist. That is why we see the struggle for social justice and environmental rights as one and the same.
Many organizations have had trouble hiring and/or keeping dedicated and committed people in executive positions.
We also recognise there is a vacuum in the opportunities available for young people that are non-partisan and non-sectarian.
Therefore, we have embarked on developing training programs to encourage future leaders who have shown a concern/commitment to safeguard, promote and defend Belize’s environment and issues impacting social justice.
The training was held at duPlooys Jungle Lodge Resort, a beautiful setting for the training session.
